Christie opened the door to Clinton, looking wary. "She's here." She cocked her head towards the kitchen. "But I wouldn't go in there if I were you. She's cleaning."

"Um, so?" Clinton said, readjusting the heavy stack of files in his arms. "Everybody cleans."

"Not people raised in money like she was." Christie paused, listening for continued cleaning noises. "We have a cleaning service. She only picks up a scrub brush when she's seriously pissed."

He grimaced. "I suppose I could just drop off the files and go..."

Before he could finish laying them on the console table a loud sound jolted the air.

"Jones!" Both of them winced at the volume of the yell that erupted from the other side of the kitchen door. "If that's you out there you so better not be bringing me work!"

Clinton's eyes went wide, but Christie just shoved the files back into his arms, turning to greet a scowling Diana as she emerged, petulant hands on her hips encased in yellow rubber gloves.

"No, Di! He just stopped by on his way home," she said brightly. "Neal's off his anklet again and since he was nearby when it went offline..."

"Yeah, a few blocks from here," Clinton picked up. "It might just be a malfunction so I thought I'd check here in case he came to see you."

"Well, I don't have him," Diana huffed out. "Those aren't for me?" she asked, glaring at the files.

"Nope! All mine!" Clinton lied, forcing a smile.

"Fine." She headed back into the kitchen. "Check Club Biwa. It's local and I know Neal's hung out there before."

"Will do!" Once she was out of sight Clinton mouthed a silent 'thank you' to Christie.

"Go now, while you can," Christie whispered. "And forever hold your files!"

Oh if I was Jones I'd run for the hills as fast as I could. Beware an angry woman with a scrub brush. :)
