Title: The Serpent Behind the Forbidden Fruit
Pairing/Characters: Victor/Sierra, Adele, Topher
Rating: PG13
Spoilers: Season 1
Summary: Prompt – Too Much
Notes/Warnings: Read the disclaimer on my LJ

Others might say she watches them like a hawk. Adele feels more like the snake in the grass, watching as Adam and Eve learn the first dance of man and woman.

As tabula rasa as the dolls are supposed to be, they're still biological entities with hormones and neurotransmitters that can evoke responses and, in some cases, feelings.

Adele watches Victor and Sierra together, innocent as children in their doll state, work on a watercolor painting together. She sees those eyes that so recently stared at her in imprinted adoration turn to Sierra. The emotion there is so much more real than anything Roger ever offered her. It's too much, too real.

Adele can't help but turn away, filled with equal parts shame and envy.

She had no business using her position... No, she can't even think about that. She closed that door and it must be left closed. She allowed herself to become compromised. She could have lost everything.

Roger was her weakness. She will be weak no longer.

"Topher!" She sees him try to sneak past her, but there is nowhere to hide in the Dollhouse. She's seen to that.

"I was just..."

She doesn't care about the man's apologies. She merely points down from the catwalk to where Victor and Sierra are now holding hands, looking mere seconds away from a kiss.

"You know that is not allowed." Her eyes turn to reptilian slits as she hisses. "Fix it."

ooo You make me miss this show. And also Enver.

The character of Adele has so much potential - she was really watchable from the get-go, but the addition of Roger and everything he represented...so much there. You've neatly captured her and made me want more, dammit. :D

Very well done, Emma!

Nice imagery. Adelle often appears as a tempting, bargain-making, Satan/Lucifer-type figure, but this also casts her as a jealous God, as Adam defied him out of love for Eve.
