Numb3rs Fic: No Warning
Written for numb3rs100 Challenge #419 - Warning

Title: No Warning
Pairing/Characters: Ian
Rating: PG13
Word Count: 100
Spoilers: Sniper Zero
Summary: Neither Ian nor his target received any advance warning
Notes/Warnings: Read the disclaimer on my LJ

In the scant instant between breaths...

From one word to the next, a sentence ended – permanently.

Blood that once raced adrenaline fast spills out onto the pavement.

No warning shot, not even the tinge of the red dot.

Ian doesn't need a laser sight; his vision sharp as any shooter.

There are others to remove the body, calm hysterical witnesses, process the paperwork.

Ian just disassembles his sniper rifle and walks away.

He has his own processing to do after every kill.

And he gets no warning either as to how bad each will be before he pulls the trigger.

Oh Ian!

I like the spare percussiveness of the images here, like a series of flashes accompanied by a tense drumbeat, sharp as blows. Well done.

Very vivid, with a real sting in the tail last line.

Well, hello! Nice to see you! I was actually thinking about you recently thanks to my French class. I hope all is going well in your corner of the world. ♥

This year is certainly proving better than last (Mr FB's stroke and gallbladder removal during the same two months last year was rather a blight on life), and things do seem to be moving in the right direction.

I'm still doing my French classes as well.

I hope all is well with you, too.

Carefully hugs Ian.

You know me and Ian angst. Would love to see how Ian handles the harder kills.
