Rating: PG13
Word Count: 100

EMTs gurney lift "On three!"

Sirens horns traffic "We're losing him!"

Swerve rattle flatline "Clear!"

Jolt jolt jolt "No pulse!"

Lights hallway yelling "Trauma room 3!"

Injection pain fading "Stay with us!"

Warmth surrounds, no pain, no fear, no self...

Jolt harsh awakening "We've got a pulse!"

Mask breathe surrender "Get him into surgery!"

Waking to a hazy world, a hand that holds his own, his name whispered with reverent lips...

Smile feel kiss "Colby, don't you ever leave me."

Safe loved happy "Promise."

Eyes take in the sight of Ian hovering, gaze fraught with worry, filled with love unspoken...

Confession
I confess this isn't one of my more successful experiments, but it's a drabble for this week. I may not be writing lots of good longer fic for the fandom, but I'm still here writing each week!

Thanks,

Emma DeMarais

I like your experiment! It has a cool rhythm, and through that it creates the disjointed, near-staccato feeling I've really had, flying through a hospital while people yell things over my head.

Would that we all had someone like Ian hovering too, waiting for us when we open our eyes.

Awesome as far as I'm concerned! So much in so few words... Totally loved it and agree with Mel.

So much said in so few words and the urgency as well.
