Numb3rs Fic: Classic Car Lust
Written for numb3rs100 Challenge #39 - Classic

Title: Classic Car Lust
Pairing/Characters: Don/Charlie
Rating: PG13
Word Count: 100
Spoilers: Judgment Call
Summary: Don understands the attraction of classic cars
Notes/Warnings: Read the disclaimer on my LJ

"It's a classic!"

Don caressed the fender of the 1965 Mustang like a lover's thigh.

"Sorry, Don. I'm buying a new car, not forty year old technology."

"Too bad," Don murmured, dragging his fingers sensually over the cherry red paint. "If you had this car... The things I'd do to you in the back seat..."

Charlie looked around furtively to make sure they were alone. "You know," his voice low in Don's ear, "there's a company that rents classic cars, like for weekends?"

Don's hand slid off the car and onto Charlie's thigh.

"I like the way your mind works."

Okay, I'm too embarrassed to acknowledge any betas for a *drabble*, but to those of you who commented on the different versions of this tiny little thing - thank you!

Now forget I ever said any of that and just assume I wrote the drabble on my own like normal. ;-)

::drools:: I still think you should write more car sex...
Emma DeMarais: BlueEyeemmademarais on January 23rd, 2006 06:36 am (UTC)
I'm not against the idea even though it's not a kink I'm into. Toss out some bunnies if you have requests. My muse is always listening...

Funny you should ask, I have this sinario that plays in my head quite often in different fandoms wherein (taking Charlie/Don as an axample)...

Charlie does a lot of teasing while Don tries to drive, to stop him Don handcufs Charlie (I know I have a thing for restraints) when he pulls into the garage Don will grab Charlie out of the car and have his wicked way with him (still handcuffed) on the car bonet.

What do you think?
Emma DeMarais: BlueEyeemmademarais on January 25th, 2006 02:25 am (UTC)
You know, I can work with that... I got a whiff of a similar plot bunny, so don't expect it to be a perfect match. (Then again, since I'm in the U.S. right now it would also have to be the 'hood' not the 'bonnet', sorry!) ;-)

The muse just got a bunch of chocolate so we'll see if she chooses to let me work on this soon...

Good muse ::pets muse::

/hands chocolate to muse who looks very happy/ Thanks...

Americans are wierd, it's a bonnet I tell ya!
Emma DeMarais: BlueEyeemmademarais on January 25th, 2006 10:59 pm (UTC)
Yes and you'd rather have him hot on the bonnet than cold in the boot, right? ;-)

No bodies in the trunk, I promise (for this fic at least). Yes, Americans are weird, but not for that reason. I mean, bonnet and hood mean similar things (headcovering - which is apropos for the covering of the part of the car that controls the rest of it). At least trunk also makes sense, since it's a spacious contained area used for storage.

Cheez Whiz. Now *that's* proof Americans are weird. /snicker/

Karenbyrons_brain on January 26th, 2006 12:48 pm (UTC)
Trunk? you of course mean the boot...

heheheehe, I love language and I always forgive the Americans because they have the sensible way of spelling doughnut/donut (no competition)...
Emma DeMarais: BlueEyeemmademarais on January 28th, 2006 09:20 pm (UTC)
LOL! Yes, that's why I used both boot and trunk. ;-)

Honestly, you see donut spelled both ways here, so don't be holding the Yanks up as sensible. Any country that has stores with names like Sav-Rite doesn't deserve any sort of linguistic kudos. /grins/

Keylaneverbelonged on January 22nd, 2006 05:37 pm (UTC)
More car sex! It's just a must. Totally. /grins/ Lovely drabble (I love old cars, well the pretty ones, which is to say I know nothing about cars except if they are pretty or not. /giggles)
Emma DeMarais: BlueEyeemmademarais on January 23rd, 2006 06:38 am (UTC)
Yeah, I'm not up on cars, but I know someone who's lusted a lifetime for a cherry red 1965 Mustang so it's not a surprise that it was already in my head when the fic started to come out of my fingers. ;-)

Car!Sex bunnies, now being accepted.
/imagines there must be some great Impala!Car!Sex bunnies for SN fic/
/wonders if there's a crossover in there somewhere/

wooohooo! go car!sex bunnies (is in a weird mood, woke up before first numbers got into double digits... weird...)
Emma DeMarais: BlueEyeemmademarais on January 25th, 2006 02:13 am (UTC)
woke up before first numbers got into double digits

Yeah, that's happened to me two days in a row now.
No wonder I'm so bloody exhausted! Ugh.

Here's hoping some of those Car!Sex bunnies work like caffeine to wake me up. ;-)

Ah, car sex! Those were the days....

I like Charlie's solution, as I'm sure he can buy something modern with great fuckability potential. And certainly Don's SUV w. tinted windows has it's compensations for non-classicism, as well. *g*

Here's a partial list from the "Road & Travel Magazine" [modern] Sexy Car Buyer’s Guide

(I've always had a fondness for T'Birds and Corvettes, myself.)

Mercedes-Benz SL500
Mercedes-Benz CLK/Cabriolet
Porsche Boxster
Audi TT
Ford Thunderbird
Chevrolet Corvette
Jaguar XK8
Honda S2000
Lexus SC430

Actually, I recently wrote Charlie into a silver 2006 BMW Z4 Roadster in East of the Sun and West of the Moon so I agree with that part of the list! (Okay, to be technical I wrote him *out* of the car but I don't want to spoil the fic so I'll hush up now.)

It was between that and the Porsche Boxster. MB, Lexus, Jaguar and Audi feel too old for him and American models too banal. He can afford better than a Honda too.

Thanks for reminding me that Don's SUV had tinted windows. I read that in a Don/Edgerton fic once and hadn't really thought of it since then.

OM-the image of Don and Charlie making out in the back seat of a '65 cherry red mustang is just guh!
Emma DeMarais: BlueEyeemmademarais on January 23rd, 2006 06:47 am (UTC)
I'm glad it got such a good reaction out of you! Personally, I can't see it, but then I'm not a visual person. (Thus answering the question as to why my fic aren't very descriptive or visual like other authors' are.)

I'm not either usually, which sucks since I'm an artist, but car sex is a button pusher for me, and I love old mustangs, so this one I can see.
Emma DeMarais: BlueEyeemmademarais on January 23rd, 2006 06:58 am (UTC)
Well I love music and I'm not auditory so that really sucks. ;-)

I'm with Charlie. I prefer brand new technology to old car charm. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate their style, in fact I find many new cars to be so generic it's disheartening. (Can anyone tell a Camry from an Accord anymore?)

I just love technology and new cars are humming with it!

Demand all you want! I can tell you though that my muse responds better to plot bunnies and bribes of chocolate. She certainly doesn't pay *any* attention when *I* make demands.

Oh yeah, she does, I forgot.

She laughs.

Emma: "Please, can I work on Time Away?"
Emma's Muse: "Ha! No. Here. Write six pages of SN threesome for me right now. Raeyashi wants it."
Emma: (groans) "Raeyashi? She's insatiable! Please let me work on someone else's fic! I have two betas with birthdays coming up!"
Emma's Muse: (diabolical laughter)

Something like that. ;-)

Were you following me around this week? I worked the Barrett-Jackson Car Auction in Scottsdale Tues through Sunday. I have cars in my dreams, I have been breathing car exhaust for a week and listening to engines rev all week. I love those beauties. I was so fortunate to be able to work the show... what a chance. And here I come home, with a dozen blisters on my feet, to find a wonderful ficlet from you about Don and Charlie and Cars... You were following me, weren't you?
Emma DeMarais: BlueEyeemmademarais on January 23rd, 2006 06:55 am (UTC)
Re: Heh
So *that's* where my muse disappeared to!

Thanks for solving that mystery! ;-)

Glad you enjoyed it.

Oooh. :)

II'm rummaging the numb3rs100 archives, and found this delightful bonbon. I can see Don and that car, and Charlie's little smile.

Hee! Yeah, there's some fun stuff in our past. There have been some really great drabbles. I almost wish there were specific drabble awards so our authors could get the recognition they deserve for their great compact little tales.
