"That blonde totally slipped you her room key!"

Don nudged Charlie as they left the banquet hall.

Charlie fished the cardkey out of his pocket. "That happens at math conferences. I just never know what to do with them."

"Here... I'll hand it in."

Don took it over to the front desk, surreptitiously pulling two cardkeys out of his own pocket.

"Can I turn these in please? Thanks."

While he was gone, Charlie flagged down a bellhop. "Can you please turn these in for me? Thanks." He handed him two more cardkeys.

"Back! Want to go get a drink?"

This is fic number 27 out of 31 in the Two Brothers Series.

Even though this was a struggle to fit in 100 words, it was worth it.

I love so much about this idea. Charlie brings Don to a conference (one assumes so they can have some time together, so Don can see Charlie in his element and perhaps so Don can have a few days off from his stressful job in a nice place to golf or whatever) and of course women want them. (Down slashers - this is a canon gen series, remember?) So Don talks up a few women who slip him room keys. Charlie's the rock star of math so he gets more than his brother even. (I almost gave him four, but I liked the idea of Charlie getting just one more than his big brother. Besides, I told myself if Charlie was alone this trip he'd have gotten more.) I adore that neither admits to all the keys they have, not wanting to show up the other brother. Charlie assumes Don has none so he doesn't want to show off and say he has three. Don figures Charlie only got the one so he lets him enjoy the ego boost rather than say he got two. Hehehe

The title is because they have the opportunity to have sex with hot women yet they choose to spend their time with each other. Their priorities are to bond with their brother, not take off and have fun on their own. I like that they put each other first and without any drama. They're there to enjoy each other's company so they do.

Re: Confession
I know the point of the story was that they _didn't_ do upmanship, but the idea still tickled me.

Re: Confession

I love the brothers having their priorities straight. And I like the hidden element of the oneupmanship as well *g* I really like this series.

Thanks. I bet they did the oneupmanship a lot growing up. With only two siblings and both of them being male competition would have been like breathing to them, especially since they excelled in completely opposite ends of the spectrum.

I'd never thought of the idea of hot professors (and their hot brothers) getting slipped card keys LOL !

Well, it's not exactly something a sensible woman would do, but hello math groupies! Viva la sexual revolution that allows a woman to come on to a man without being considered a complete and total slut. They're hot, they're not married and it's a conference. I'm sure a ton of hookups go on despite the geeky reputation of mathematicians and scientists. /grins/

Glad you liked it!

OMG this is just too precious..

What he refrained from saying is "I just never know what to do with the *extra* ones". /snicker/
