And the statistics geek emerges once again!

I confess I love end of year stats, so much so I tend to tweak my output to make them neat and tidy. LOL

I decided early in 2008 that I wasn't going to try for a third year of 150 Numb3rs fic. Sadly, in the fall I thought why not try for it? But I hadn't posted enough earlier in the year so it would have been a pain to make it, ergo me settling for 135. I'm just miffed that it wasn't 125 because that would have been pretty neat given my past performance (except Vice kind of messed it up).

What I'm most jazzed about, statistics wise, is my list of partial fic. Last year I had 20 partial Numb3rs fic on my list. This year? Only 8! /beams/ Clearly starting the ficfinishing comm made a difference. I now have just 35 total unpublished fic on my list (all fandoms) and of those only 24 are partials (the remaining 11 are finished drafts in beta or rewrites). So out of 470 straight up Numb3rs fic I've started only 8 are not finished. That's a tiny 1.7% partial rate! And for 2008? I have a 100% completion rate for Numb3rs fic. /beams again/ That's saying something given that I wrote 125 new Numb3rs fic in 2008.

I learned my lesson last year in that I wrote three new fandoms for Yuletide (Brimstone, Cupid and Blood Ties), but because the reveal wasn't until 1/1 I couldn't list them! This year I snuck in one fic on my new Yuletide fandom - Burn Notice - so I could claim it for 2008.

A note about Vice and Virtue...
Vice was my first ever novel length work (over 50K) and while I wasn't thrilled with having to publish it over the course of two calendar years, I am proud that I got it done! What's more, I'm excited that the sequel Virtue (over 95K!) was completed in 2008 during NaNoWriMo! That means Virtue will be spooled out in its entirety in 2009. No long waits!

In all this year went well in terms of fic. I pushed my boundaries and wrote fic longer than I ever had before and faster than I ever had before. (31K of Wilderness Bound in 7 days and 95K of Virtue in 22 days!) My writing improves every year, but I'm always striving for a level of excellence I'll never reach: the journey's the thing.

There never seems to be a good way to properly thank my betas for all their hard work and support, but I do want to say publicly how much I appreciate each of you for all you've done for me. You don't have to offer me your rare free time and energy, yet you do, and I am so grateful for each of you.

To my F-list: I'm not a good friend, but those of you who've stuck by me anyway are much appreciated. Thank you for being such supportive and interesting people.

Thank you as well to all the people who read my fic. I may write it for myself, but it means a great deal to me that you find my stories worthy of your time.
