"You can't be serious."

"I mean we haven't bought the ring yet," Don admitted, "but Robin's picking one out."

Charlie was pacing, fingers twitching empty. "You just decided, like that, at the breakfast table to get married?"

"Well, it's not like she and I never talked about it before." Don shrugged. "Hey, I did the down on one knee thing the first time, so forgive me for not making a big deal out of my second try when we're both pushing forty."

"It just feels weird," Charlie complained. "It feels wrong. I don't like it."

Don got up off the couch and stretched languidly. Naps were good here, restful, but soon the Craftsman wouldn't be home anymore. It would be Charlie and Amita's house. Alan had already put a down payment on a condo.

"Pretty sure what you think doesn't matter," Don said, his tone matter of fact. "Since it's not your wedding."

He turned to go only to have Charlie grip his arm tight, pulling him close as he lowered his voice.

"You're just doing this to spite me, to get back at me for proposing to Amita."

Don tugged his arm free.

"Sorry, Charlie. Not everything's about you."

Hey, at least this time there's no actual Robin or Amita in my Don/Robin Charlie/Amita fic in this supposed cest series! /hides/

Very special thanks to beta rubynye for her assistance with this fic.

Oh, I like this...

The tension between the brothers, the gap that is slowly forming... Very good...

My heart, my heart. This still utterly and perfectly breaks my heart.

Dear Lord, you can't have it both ways Charlie.
