Numb3rs Fic: On the Sand
Written for numb3rs100 Challenge #220 – Sand

Title: On the Sand
Pairing/Characters: Billy/Charlie
Rating: PG13
Word Count: 100
Spoilers: Man Hunt
Summary: Billy and Charlie finally truly alone on a private beach
Notes/Warnings: Read the disclaimer on my LJ

Grains of sand speckle dark curls, a night sky juxtaposed against the flame of Billy's sun red-gold hair.

They are day and night and no one understands, save his genius, but Billy doesn't care. He is a simple man; he wants only sun, sand and his lover beneath him. His name is a breath on Charlie's lips as their bodies, like vines, entwine.

Charlie's skin is olive beneath his freckled hand, salty beneath his tongue and trembling like the rumble of the crashing waves.

Numbers, like the surf, recede. A blissful cry rises like a seagull to the sky.

Once again, inspired by Taking in the Sights and perhaps a little by my brain thinking about Safe Harbor's in progress sequel Harbor House. (Now that Billy's in SoCal... Well, it gives me ideas. /big grin/) Oh, and Clean Slate because that's the one with the bit about Billy's freckles being a constellation. I think that's what my muse was thinking about when she decide to recast pale sand dusted in Charlie's hair as stars in the night sky.

Thank you! I still prefer the original, but this one has a few bits that I rather enjoyed.

I simply adore the way you write Billy/Charlie. It's just amazing. Great job yet again. Am looking for to the Billy pov piece Safe Harbor. May have to go reread all your Billy/Charlie again cause this piece put me in the mood! And I need something to do while I await Virtue with abated breath. :)

Thanks, hon!

I need to get back into writing Harbor House. Not sure what's holding that up - other than the 3 big bangs I've got looming over me and the megaepic Virtue. LOL

I adore this pairing and wish others would write it more but at least I enjoy writing it myself enough to keep coming back to it.

I'm off to go prep today's Virtue post. Yay!

*drools* This is beautiful. I love when you write Billy/Charlie, and I'm sure that image of Billy's coppery hair against the night sky will be with me for a long time. Gorgeous.

I still like the original better, but this one's quite happy-making as well. :-)

Mmm, Billy/Charlie is so tasty, and you beautifully capture the contrasts that make them so, like hot fudge and cold icecream. Yum.
