Numb3rs/White Collar Fic: Kitten Heels Lioness Prowl
Written for numb3rs100 Challenge #281 – Prowl
Crossposted to whitecollarfic and n3crossovers

Title: Kitten Heels Lioness Prowl
Pairing/Characters: Neal, Peter, Diana, Megan, Clinton
Rating: PG13
Word Count: 300
Spoilers: Judgment Call (Numb3rs), Pilot (White Collar)
Summary: A former FBI agent is key in an off the books op
Notes/Warnings: Read the disclaimer on my LJ

"It's no good, boss." Diana tossed the file folder back on the conference room table as Peter paced, clearly wracking his brains. "We can't lure this guy out with a female agent when he knows every agent we've got."

"I could come up with someone from my end," Neal offered.

"No," Peter vetoed hastily. "We need someone trained as an agent. This guy's too high level to send an amateur in." His face lit up. "He might recognize one of my agents, but he wouldn't know someone who's not an agent anymore!"

Megan handed the file back across the diner booth to Peter, a little smirk on her face. "I'm in."

Peter just nodded. "You know this isn't a Bureau sanctioned op."

"I know." Megan's gaze went to her coffee cup. "But if it helps ferret out someone who might be dirty in the DoJ? It's worth it."

The man slid a folded bill across the bar to the bartender and took a sip of his 12 year old scotch before his eye was caught by a woman walking through the door.

She prowled fearless, like a big cat, into a room full of NYC politicos, looking like she would eat them for breakfast.

Every head turned, including his, as those long legs passed by - stocking seams perfectly running down to tall black kitten heels.

Jones handed a ten dollar bill to Peter who just smirked inside the surveillance van. The man had followed Megan to a back booth and was quickly trying to win her over, impressing her with his credentials.

"We're in!" Peter crowed. "Damn, it's too bad she left the Bureau. She's a natural."

Neal eyed Megan's progress over Peter's shoulder. "Then I think I'll have to ask if she'd consider coming over to my side."

I confess this isn't what I had in mind for my first WC/N3 crossover, but I needed a drabble bunny for Prowl at N100 so I asked the slashchat women for ideas. (Thank you, ladies!) The winning option was a crossover with Peter and Neal and Megan. I had to have a woman in fuck me boots or sexy heels and Megan won out over Liz, and not just because she's East Coast. I did figure her being a former FBI agent would make an interesting plot point, but really, it's all about the visual of Megan's long lean legs walking across the floor with utter confidence.

Idea inspired by the following lyric excerpts from the song 88 Lines about 44 Women by the Nails:

Jeannie had a nightclub walk
that made grown men feel underage

Gina was the perfect lady
always had her stockings straight

And yes, each section is exactly three paragraphs long on purpose. ;-)

:) I really liked this - what a great idea for these two shows to crossover, and Megan here is so kickass :)

Thanks! All credit goes to my friends in Slashchat since they picked it. Megan being kickass is great to write and I can just picture Neal really admiring her as kind of a more forceful version of Alex.

Oh I love this so very much. /happy sigh/ I really enjoyed seeing Diane on WC and thought she did a fantastic job as Gina, but srsly. Peter recruiting Megan to take a piece out of the DOJ is delicious poetic justice. Brava. ♥

/♥s you back/

And how funny is it that the woman's name in the inspiration lyrics is Gina! (And Jeannie which is phonetically very close to Gina.)

/is much amused at the coincidence/

So Sorry I missed Slash Chat today if this came out of it. I was just too damn tired.

This is great. Megan would eat them all alive and love every second of it. Now I kind of want a Neal in Sin 'verse thing for some reason.

Yeah, Tam said you were really tired. I get that it's not the best time for you. Damn this 24 hour planet! /toddlerfists/

Neal just might have to show up in Sin. I'm just saying. ;-) (Of course that means if Peter shows up he's a bad guy! LOL)

I have a fondness for Evil!Peter.
Emma DeMaraisemmademarais on September 20th, 2010 02:56 am (UTC)
I picture Evil!Peter a bit like the OnTheRun!Peter mixed with 5StarHotelCPA!Peter with a solid dash of WaitingAtKate'sWithRingCommanding!Peter. Hehehe

I'll have to see what I can do. I'm tempted to put him into a prequel as a peer to Don or perhaps someone a bit more ahead in the crime world than him.

hehe. YAY for Megan making an appearance! I love it. :)

Thanks, hon! I figured the boys needed a second kick ass woman to balance things out. /grins/

I enjoyed this. It was nice to see Diane Farr showing up on White Collar.
