Confession Part 1
Stats are usually fun for me. Not so much this year. Not only did I not have time to fic last year, I was made of total fail when it came to tracking my fic. Those who know me well have seen how detailed my tracking documents are. Only this last year I had to spread my time over two computers plus I was too busy most Mondays when I was rush posting my N100 drabble to deal with tracking. Ugh. I hate not having my writing all organized.

I had to give up my regular WC100 drabbles and even my N100 drabbles for the summer and Rewinds for the whole year. Between college and health issues plus having to go away for the summer, fic didn't stand a chance. Still, over 45 fic is better than nothing I suppose.

Numb3rs Fic Published Over the Years:
25 in 2005
150 in 2006
150 in 2007
135 in 2008
1 Vice (2007/2008)
110 in 2009
101 in 2010
71 in 2011
60 in 2012
47 in 2013
Total N3 fic = 850

Partial/Unedited Unpublished Fic Over the Years:

EOY 2008: 35 Unpublished: 24 Partial 11 Unedited
EOY 2009: 19 Unpublished: 14 Partial 5 Unedited
EOY 2010: 21 Unpublished: 7 Partial 14 Unedited
EOY 2011: 15 Unpublished: 9 Partial 6 Unedited
EOY 2012: 23 Unpublished: 17 Partial 6 Unedited
EOY 2013: Unknown

I probably don't have that many more unpublished fic this last year if only because I had so little time to work on any fic longer than a drabble. /sadface/

FWIW, here's some of what's stalled:

Numb3rs Fic
Mi Corazon (The third in the Don Diego Trilogy)
Eyes (A Charlie stalker fic)
Time Away (The sequel to Honey and Roses)
Homicide (Book 1 of Viceworld)
Larceny (Book 2 of Viceworld)
My first ever Emma fic, which may never see the light of day
Treading Water (A Charlie/Ian series starter)
Yes Virginia (A Charlie/Ian one shot)

Supernatural Fic
The Comforts of Home (Long old Dean/Sam)
When the End is Near (Long old Dean/Sam)

Sherlock Fic
The Art and Science of Becoming a Proper Nemesis (A long H/C NC17 S/I)

X-Men Fic
Last Night on Earth (Pre-Cuba Charles/Erik)
105 Degrees (Mansion era Charles/Erik H/C)
Winter Spring Autumn (Charles/Erik post-divorce MPREG... Yes, MPREG.)
The Sleep of the Dead (Charles/Erik H/C)
Tea and Sympathetic Vibrations (Charles/Erik H/C)

Revenge Fic
Being Three (Nolan bisexuality fic)

Grimm Fic (Yes, a new fandom!)
A Vigil A Moon A Vow A Man A Wolf (Nick/Monroe)
A Wesen Family Holiday (Monroe/Rosalee)

Crossover Fic
The Fingers in the Pie (Bones/CM case fic)
The Consummate Husband (WC/F/HDM P/E/N)
Heat Seeker (Lev/BTVS/SPN Eliot/Faith/Dean)

Elementary Fic (New Fandom!)
All Proper and Discreet (Yuletide – On AO3)

Sleepy Hollow Fic (New Fandom!)
Reverse Ancestry (Yuletide – On AO3)
That Sly Come Hither Stare

Marvel's Agents of Shield (New Fandom!)
Solos (Yuletide – On AO3)

My Yuletide fic always overinflate my end of year unediteds since I can't publish my fic on LJ until after the reveal. This year I had three Yuletide fic, which will go up right after this post.

The final numbers for 2013 are as follows:

Published Fic:

Numb3rs – 47
Revenge - 1
Fairy Tales - 1
Crossovers - 2 (N3/CM, N3/Unit)

Total - 51

(That's about half of last year. Wow... 2012 had 98, 2011 had 179, 2010 had 166. 2009 had 177. 2008 had 195.)

Note: I don't include crossovers in my counts of what I call 'straight up' fandom fic.

I now have fic published in 29 fandoms: Numb3rs, Supernatural, Heroes, Criminal Minds, The Unit, Psych, Bones, Miracles, Brimstone, Cupid, Blood Ties, Primeval, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Firefly, Burn Notice, Dollhouse, Leverage, The Mentalist, Castle, White Collar, Lie to Me, Covert Affairs, Hawaii Five-0, Sherlock, X-Men, Revenge, The Sandman, Fairy Tales. I've also published crossovers with Angel and His Dark Materials and both a crossover and a remix with Buffy. I never finished my Grimm fic in 2012 or 2013 and if I had, I'd have been at a neat 30 fandoms. Once I post all my Yuletide fic I'll be up and over 30 at least.

Please note that all fic is tagged and (will hopefully soon be) memoried for convenience. (I'm way behind on the memories portion, but tags are always in use.)

Please read Confession Part 2 for more comments.

Thanks,

Emma DeMarais

Confession Part 2
I can't see how I could fill this with anything that I didn't already say last year. As always I regret that I've had no time for LJ friends, gift fic, ficathons or even just reading posts to keep up on what people are doing. I will still work on my Holiday post fic and I am still participating in chat sometimes, but I feel like there's little hope of change in the next year. Who knows? Grad school might actually give me such a stable schedule I can rejoin the masses and perhaps catch up with whoever is left a year and a half from now. /sigh/ At least I managed a gift fic for my slashwife, Mel, and both Yuletide and a Yuletide pinch hit – those are like gifts to myself as well.

So to all my once upon a time betas and First Readers, I'm sorry I didn't have anything for you to read this year, but I do very much appreciate your support.

To the lovely people on my F-list who are around after all this time, thank you. I miss you and think of you despite the fact that I have no time or energy to interact. Please know that I still consider you my friends. I've always thought that it was more important for me to use my time to contribute fic to the fandom instead of comments, so know that every time I post new fic it's my gift to you, thinking of you and wanting you to have enjoyable fic to read.

Thank you as well to all the other people who read my fic: regulars, passers-by and lurkers. I may write it for myself and for my fandoms, but it means a great deal to me that you find my stories worthy of your time. I welcome you all to leave a comment, even just one. I am always happy to greet those who delurk (well, I do try, though it may take me a bit) and you may find that interaction is far more engaging than just sitting back and watching. The world is full of opportunities to reach out: try it.

I don't know what 2014 holds especially once I graduate with my bachelors degree, but it's not likely to be much better than 2013 as far as fic goes unless I can manage some this January and bits during my brief summer breaks. And remember, I can often be found hanging about in Mel's slashchat so I'm never completely gone!

Happy New Year!

Thank you for your writing. I have been introduced to new movies or television series as well as gain a different viewpoint on them. Your writing about the X-Men encouraged me to watch the movies.

One of my favorite series is Don Diego with the interaction between Don and Diego showing a very different side of Don.

Jet Black made me appreciate porn and the interaction of the characters especially at the dinner party.

Thank you, River!

It's meant a lot to me that you continue to read, comment and support my fic.

I'm delighted each time you discover a new fandom you like because I opened you up to it. It's so cool to share wonderful escapist entertainment with friends.

I also very much agree on the Don in Don Diego. He's one of my favorite Dons because of how he is with Diego in that universe.

Jet Black may well be one of my best, most inventive series yet. As such it's daunting to try to write in it; I set the bar very high! I very much hope to get back into that world with Adam Edgerton soon. /crosses fingers/

Have a wonderful 2014 and enjoy the next X-Men flick!
