"Megan."

Megan opened her eyes in surprise and found Ian standing over her hospital bed.

"Ian."

"I came to see how you were." Ian didn't meet her eyes at first and when he did it was only briefly.

"I'm okay. I heard Crystal got away."

Ian bristled slightly. "Not for long. I'll catch her."

"We'll catch her," Megan corrected him. "You may have brought us in on this, but it's a team effort now."

"Team..." Ian shifted uncomfortably. "You may have noticed I work solo as a rule. I don't do well in teams."

"I think you do just fine."

"Yeah, well I'm sure your teammates don't agree."

"Because you wanted to go after Crystal instead of taking me to the hospital?"

Ian's hands balled into fists and then released. "They told you."

"Yes. We don't keep things from each other. Well," she capitulated for a second, "I kind of didn't tell them about Larry right off the bat, but that's different."

"Megan..."

"Ian, I don't hold it against you if that's what you're worried about. You were focused on the case and Don was focused on me. There's no right or wrong here."

Ian stood up a little straighter. "I'm glad you feel that way." He gestured to the door. "I should get back."

Megan nodded and Ian headed for the door.

"Ian?"

"Yeah?"

"Before you go, let me toss that Nietzsche back at you," she said with a knowing smile. "Maybe you're the one who's been spending too much time in other people's heads."

Ian paused with his hand on the door.

"You know, getting that shot off is what got you saved. Sometimes thinking like criminals is a good thing."

"The trick is figuring out when to stop," Megan countered.

"Yes," Ian agreed. "That is the trick."

Well our Ian episodes just doubled in number this season, so that was good!

Ian was the featured character of the month over at numb3rs100 (thus all the recent Ian fic on my LJ) and there's a new Ian comm as well, so here's hoping that means more fic to come.

I normally don't adopt bunnies, but if you tell me what you had in mind I'll pass it on to the muse. ;-)

Thanks,

Emma

Well, I've been wanting to write Ian/Billy for ages but it's too hard I guess. I hope eventually it'll happen, but for now I'm just happy I pulled off Don/Ian in my new fic.

I have a silly fluff piece with Billy in it I just started but no Ian. I think maybe they're both so alpha they can't share a room much less a fic.

Hope springs eternal though...

Thanks for sharing.

WOO. That was a great missing scene. I really liked it, because Megan and Ian are kind of similar in their methodologies. I also loved the conflict they introduced in the episode, between Megan and Ian, so I'm glad you came back to it.

I'm glad you liked it. I totally forgot to mark it as a Missing Scene fic. Oops!

I would like to see more Megan and Ian, for the same reason I like Ian and Charlie - competing methodologies always makes for interesting conflict when both parties are on the same side.

Thanks,

Emma

i love the conflict you've shown not only between Megan and Ian and their work philosophies, but within Ian himself. i adore Ian's "I'll catch her" and Megan's "The trick is figuring out when to stop."

i'm glad you're writing Ianfic--you do it well ^_^

Thank you, that's very kind of you to say.

I like writing Ian and I've got a bunny in my head to write a real challenge: Ian/Billy.

The problem is, how do you get two alphas to do more than fight?

I've got most of it in my head, but I'm missing just enough to keep me from starting to write.

Ah well, at least I *can* write Ian now.

Hopefully more of him soon...

Thanks,

Emma
